Out talk show host: Gays and Latinos share struggle

by PageOneQ

During a panel discussion in the CNN newsroom on Tuesday, Fay Carmona, openly gay co-host of Univision's The Luis Jiménez Show, says that Latinos and gays draw unlikely parallels in the current climate.

"I'm very blessed," Carmona says, "to not only only represent Latinos; I also get to represent the gay community."

"It is funny enough," she goes on, "that Latinos and gays don't really know, but they're fighting for almost the same things: They want equal rights. They want health care for their partners."

Who named you as our representative.
Wow, i really believe that the title of representative is huge for you.

Representative means one that speak on behalf of the many. sure thing you lack values, principles and much more than that.

Please avoid make stupid comments specially if caucasian are the audience. What are they going to think of us 'latino" when they see a self proclame representative like you

Well let see I know Fay personally and though I may not agree with everything she does or what life styles she may have this is a free country that allows up to pursuit of happiness in how we legally see fit.

Self proclaimed representative, funny comment to make, what would they think. Well if they do there home work she grew up in a town where all she was expected to do was get knocked up and collect welfare what most people expect you Latin women to do.

Instead she overcame made a name for herself and she is now a productive citizen, unlike the many people that claim they can't make it because they are held back and life is unfair. I don't know I see a fighter who fought for everything she wanted unlike most of the people she bothered to speak up for who lack commitment.

What I really want to know is this, what really pissed you off about the situation the fact that CNN cared more about what she had to say than you that has not accomplished anything.

Fay you do your thing, any hispanic from from your hood would be proud that you were able to at least say something on behalf of them.

Well let see I know Fay personally and though I may not agree with everything she does or what life styles she may have this is a free country that allows up to pursuit of happiness in how we legally see fit. (Te estas miando fuera de la olla) It has been strongly established that this society cherishes the individualism’s virtues such as: live to your potential, self identity and so on. In other words, you are the creator of your own destiny.

Self proclaimed representative, funny comment to make, what would they think. Well if they do there home work she grew up in a town where all she was expected to do was get knocked up and collect welfare what most people expect you Latin women to do.
a) When you wrote your piece, did you went back to check the topic and the narration. It goes something like this; Fay in CNN representing gays and latinos share struggle! Making allusion and quote “I'm very blessed," Carmona says, "to not only only represent Latinos; I also get to represent the gay community."
b) Yeah, Funny that people just react opposes to read and reflect upon the matter at hand. Let me put it this way, in the words of the Mexican campaign of literacy “EDUCATE”.
c) Concerning the assertion of the environment that Fay grew up and those women were expected to be adolescent mothers. First of I think she has made it clear on her gender preferences (hard to get impregnated if you repulse the one ingredient required to mother), second I think is true for all Latinos (Living in USA though in our native countries are more educated people and holding a lot of degrees) but I hate when a person uses the victim card.
I work full time, parent and I also go to the university. For sure I am struggling but my desire is SUPERACION and I will get it. According to statistic release by the Hispanic organization the odds of a Latino to graduate from College is something on the neighborhood of 0.07. But we can decide if we want to be the victim or more.

Instead she overcame made a name for her and she is now a productive citizen, unlike the many people that claim they can't make it because they are held back and life is unfair. I don't know I see a fighter who fought for everything she wanted unlike most of the people she bothered to speak up for who lack commitment.
What! Productive citizen as long as one is not a dependent of the system I guess is a person productive. But she made a name for her self, let me be rhetoric here. What has she accomplished that is profoundly beneficial to humanity? Has she made a mark as altruist for others?

What I really want to know is this, what really pissed you off about the situation the fact that CNN cared more about what she had to say than you that has not accomplished anything.
Ja Ja Ja Ja, Propaganda and innuendo sure a lot

Fay you do your thing, any hispanic from from your hood would be proud that you were able to at least say something on behalf of them.
What do you mean anyone from your hood be proud?
